KLM takes delivery of 29th and final 777

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (The Netherlands) has taken delivery of it's 29th and final Boeing 777 (based on the current order book). The Dutch national airline has 15 777-200ERs and 14 777-300ERs, which along with A330-200/300s, 787-9s and (retiring) 747-400s form the backbone of it's long haul fleet.

Alitalia takes delivery of first 777-300ER

Alitalia has taken delivery of it's first Boeing 777-300ER (MSN 35783), leased from AerCap. The aircraft was previously operated by Air Austral. Alitalia already operates 11 777-200ERs on it's long haul network.

The -300ER will operate from Rome to Buenos Aires three times a week, and once a week to New York (JFK). Service entry has twice been delayed in September, and is now thought to be planned for early October.

Nordwind leases first 777-300ER

Nordwind Airlines (Russia) has leased it's first Boeing 777-300ER (MSN 32639) from DAE Capital. The ex-EVA Air aircraft was delivered new July 27th 2005, and sold and leased back to GE Capital on delivery. The aircraft was sold to DAE Capital June 2008, and continued on lease to EVA Air until May this year. This is only the second used 777-300ER to be leased by a Russian airline, while Aeroflot operates 16 that were delivered new. [Postscript: a second 777-300ER (MSN 32640), with the same pedigree and lessor, was delivered 10/31/17]

Nordwind already operates four 777-200ERs, three GE powered and one RR powered.

Kuwait Airways takes delivery of it's 10th and final 777-300ER

Kuwait Airways has taken delivery of it's tenth and final Boeing 777-300ER, while also recently phasing out it's two 777-200ERs July 31st. This follows the retirement of it's four A340-300s between March and July. Kuwait's long haul fleet now consists of 5 x A330-200 (all delivered in 2015), 10 x 777-300ER (delivered between December 2016 and August 2017). The company's sole 747-400 remains in service. 10 x A350 are on order for delivery from 2019.

PIA leases used 777-300ER

PIA Pakistan International Airlines has leased an ex-Air Austral Boeing 777-300ER from Macquarie Aviation Leasing (Australia). The aircraft MSN 35782/778 was delivered new to Air Austral as F-OSYD April 23rd 2009, leased from ILFC. Sold to Macquarie a year later, the aircraft continued on lease until October 2016.

PIA currently has three 777-300ERs that were delivered new to the airline between 2006 and 2008, and also operates six 777-200ERs and 2 777-200LRs

China Eastern takes delivery of 20th and final 777-300ER

China Eastern Airlines has taken delivery of it's 20th and final Boeing 777-300ER. It received it's first example September 23rd 2014, with four more before the end of year, five in 2015, seven in 2016 and the final four in 2017.

Apart from three previously operated 767-300ERs, China Eastern's long haul fleet has been focused on Airbus A330s and A340s. The 777s have now completely replaced China Eastern's A340-300s and -600s, while the carrier currently operates 33 x A330-200s and 21 x A330-300s.

United takes delivery of 1500th 777 built

United Airlines (US) has taken delivery of the 1,500th Boeing 777. The -300ER (MSN 63723/1500 N2243U) is the 13th of this variant of the aircraft delivered new to United. The airline's -300ERs are replacing the remaining (16) 747-400s.

United was a launch customer for the 777, taking delivery of the first 777-200 on May 15th 1995, with service commencing the following month between London Heathrow and Washington Dulles. United received 18 777-200s, followed by 32 777-200ERs commencing March 7th 1997.

VIM Airlines leases first 777-300ER

VIM Airlines (Russia) leased it's first Boeing 777-300ER (MSN 33501/516 VP-BIN) from Air Lease (US). The ex-Emirates aircraft joins an existing fleet of 10 777-200ERs. This is the first Emirates 777-300ER to have been returned off lease. VIM also operates 3 737-500s, 5 757-200s, 2 767-300ERs and from Airbus 4 A319s and 2 A330-200s.
