Korean Air takes delivery of first CSeries

Korean Air has taken delivery of it's first Bombardier CSeries at a delivery ceremony hosted at Montreal Mirabel, where both the aircraft and the Pratt & Whitney GTF final assembly takes place. KAL becomes the third operator of the CS300 (after AirBaltic and Swiss), with Bombardier having now delivered a total of eight CS100s and 15 CS300s.

Last passenger 747 delivered (?)

Boeing has delivered possibly the last passenger configured 747, with Korean Air receiving it's final 747-8 Intercontinental July 31st. Absent (unlikely) new orders, it is not believed any further 747-8 Intercontinental aircraft will be built (excepting 'Air Force One' models - see note below). UPS' order for 14 747-8 freighters (the first of which is now painted and awaiting delivery) ensures the 747 line will continue in production for now, albeit at a very low production rate.

Boeing has delivered 36 747-8Is to airlines: Air China (7), Lufthansa (19), Korean Air (10). An additional nine were delivered as head of state or VIP platforms. Meanwhile 71 747-8 freighters have been delivered.

Postscript: Within an hour or so of publishing this article, information suggests two 747-8Is built in 2015 for now defunct Russian carrier Transaero (currently stored at Victorville, CA) might (later confirmed) become the vehicles for Air Force One conversions. "Ironic...don't ya' think".
