China Airlines ends A340-300 operations
China Airlines (Taiwan) has ended Airbus A340-300 operations after 17 years of service. The airline operated a modest fleet of 7 A340-300s in total, with the first delivery in April 2001. Four more joined the fleet in 2001 and two in 2003. Six were delivered new, while the final delivery in October 2003 was an aircraft delivered new to Singapore Airlines (but not operated) and sold on delivery to Boeing Capital. A350s have replaced the A340s, with six delivered.
